Brian

Brian is a Pilates instructor living and teaching in downtown Albany since 2005.

Brian specializes in functional anatomy and the rehabilitative applications of Pilates. He has extensive experience with pain management, knee replacements, hip replacements, foot surgeries and pelvic floor conditions. He enjoys collaboratively applying the practical components of The Pilates Method to a more frictionless flow of the dance-that is each person's everyday life.

In 1999, Brian graduated from Cornell University with a degree in psychology and education. He combined his personal passion for movement with his education background, and started his fitness career as a personal trainer at David Barton Gym in Manhattan in 2001. He completed his personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in 2000 and his Pilates Mat Certification through the Kelly Kane School of Core Integration in Manhattan in 2001. In 2003, Brian returned to his hometown area in the Hudson Valley where he developed his own local traveling fitness and Pilates business. He further continued his Pilates Apparatus Certifications through Stott Pilates, a Toronto based school from 2008-2011.

Currently, Brian is pursuing a Masters of Occupational Therapy at Maria College in Albany. In addition to Pilates, Brian enjoys studying Eastern movement forms. He regularly practices Tai Chi (Chuan 24), Yoga, Alexander Technique, Qi Gong, Acroyoga and Thai bodywork.
